Left on the streets and being a dog all other dogs and humans alike fear, Toby undergoes the societal pressures of being the unwanted dog. As everything in his life that could go wrong, seems to go wrong, Toby loses faith in the brighter side of things. Duck is the runt of a prestigious American Short-hair cat litter, but she's not only a runt, she's tailless. Born crippled and with an awkward gait when it wasn't in her genetics to be without a tail, her owners go through considerable measures to make sure she "never happened". Living as a feral cat has it's challenges when you're the size of a giant rat and can hardly balance. On the contrary, her outlook on life is the polar opposite of Toby's. Though the two have their considerable differences, they share many hardships in their backgrounds. Will finding a friend in Duck change anything for Toby..?
