I haven't done a full blown personal piece in a while, this was just really relaxing and fun to work on
Here's my little snow leopard shapeshifter Echo
Anyway, I really like the outcome! I've been dissatisfied with how the fur in my latest art keeps coming out, primarily digitally, so this was really good to experiment on.
Originally, I wanted to do something with a challenging background for practice, but then hands got the better of me :I
Haha, I referenced this wonderful stock image for the post and most fur!
With my own edits. I changed up the back legs to fit the pose I wanted so that the tail would fit in the image. There's probably a few anatomical errors in the hind legs and such but oh well XD
Also, thank you xXAcid-RiverXx for suggesting the snow on the one paw due to the fact that Echo had probably been walking around for a while.
In general, I like it! I think I improved significantly in comparison to the last previous pieces I painted.
I did a few color corrections in PS, mainly just making this more "colorful" when it comes to his fur. So more bluish in general to fit the background. There's more magenta and other colors in there too that I added, but I ended up having to reduce the opacity of the layer by 50% to prevent it from taking away the values in the dark areas xD
My favorite part about this is how the eyes came out though, the colors were way too fun to work with! But hey that's nothing new, I probably say that about most everything I make don't I? XD Oops
I added whiskers initially but decided against it haha XD
