Download for full viewA new OC, Lacrima <3 Actually old, but never drew him xD
Anyway this is for =
Greykitty's project ;u; A collection of cheetah images to be made for Michael, a to-be 10 year old boy who's been fighting various illnesses and even underwent surgery. He loves cheetahs <3

________
Anyway I thought I'd explain the image a bit ;u;
I chose Lacrima since he's a king cheetah, which to me gives a sense of power <3 Not only because cheetahs are already powerful creatures but the idea just adds more 'fluff' to it ;U;
The pose is also something I tried, for a more powerful, regal, kingly, feel. This boy has been fighting to many things at the age of 9. I say he's a brave little kid ;u;
And finally the window, on the other side is a vast open sky and another cheetah, it's mirror image ;u; If you can see the little motion blurs I put and the eye glow, as if it was leaping (moving) and free. I guess Michael would be the cheetah on our side atm. You're almost there kid! Just hang on <3Ah well as a third fact, cheetahs are endangered. Their numbers in the wild are currently dwindling.
Want to save these animals?Join #AnimalAwareness to show your support for saving endangered and abused animals and contribute to our galleries to spread the awareness! They're classified as 'vulnerable' but still, these big cats are poached for their fur.
Well, enjoy the image <3
~Also haven't requested a critique in a while so I'd love to see my improvement! Please don't rate it 5 stars as people have done before ^^ Nothing is perfect~ I used to share all critiques but I'm only sharing them if you be fair~

I have read all the other critiques and I must agree with many of them. First of all, I love the idea of using Mirror-Glass background. I can see the broken glass under the cheetah's back legs. The glass lines are done very neatly and well! And the clouds are also really well done. Moreover, the lineart and the colouring are also done pretty well.
What bothers me is the reflection. I must admit that it is greatly done, but shouldn't it be a bit... different? I mean, you (I guess) dupliciated the layer of the reflection, and you did great, but in my opinion it needed some changes. We can see the cheetah from the right side, so should we see the reflected cheetah from the left? (Ugh, I am bad at explaining some things, I hope you understand what I mean x__x..). Moreover, I am a bit confused with the light source. It is like the cheetah is beeing lighted by 3 different sides. Though, I can give a justification about that since the sun is reflected by the glass C:. I can also see that the cheetah's front legs are a bit short compared to the back legs. I saw the reference and I understood what you wanted to do. If you were just shading a bit more there, the leg would look longer, but since the shading stops because the cheetah is hitted by the light, the lineart takes place and gives me the illusion that the front legs (limbs) are short.
The whole picture though and the final result agre great and very unique! Keep up the beautiful work ^^
Originality: I think this is very unique and really shows off some of the artist's personality and thoughts. I love how the reflection has the eyes glowing, adding something different and new to the piece.
Technique: I think the tools were well utilized. I do notice an area around the neck that could blend in more. Otherwise, everything looks really good!
Impact: this piece of art gives off an impact to the viewer, but also has an impact within it! The fierce pose gives the viewer a feel of strength and power. I love how the cheetah and it's reflection have two different expressions, making the viewer wonder what thoughts are brewing through its mind.
Overall I loved this masterpiece, and I think others will love it and be inspired! Keep up the good work!
