If you look closely, I made his reflection have blue eyes and his form slightly less saturated in colors.
He's on the brink of death and what I pictured when drawing this was as old dog,
fighting abuse his whole life,
and finally gets the chance to stop fighting.
(That's barbed wire around his neck)
This isn't uncommon and although this isn't based off an actual dog, it's a very real case.

Puerto Rico dog park and abuse Now this article is also a must read, there are parts of Puerto Rico that are known for their animal abuse and even 'petnapping' dogs and cats from families and making them fight.

I don't understand why people do this. But I think people do this because they want to show they're the dominant species. But their is limits... Sure you can be dominant, but that doesn't mean you have to hurt them! Just poke or tap them to show to knock it off... (Like that Dog Whisperer dude) I just can't belive people do this... I wish all the animal abusers would go away or something...

This drawing is really moving, I hate all of the comments that are saying stuff like, "Awww!" or "I was I could do something!" When they could! If they would only stop whining and get up, go to there shelter and help out when they can, I mean really, that's one of the best things you do- but then most people just get grossed out or say stuff like, "Well the shelter is also bad!..." Well the shelter isn't as bad as a dog, or even a FISH being held in the house of a rapist, drug addict, WHO KNOWS! And it's not just the poor puppies and poor kitties, people don't see it though but fish, SNAKES, BUGS, and even BOAR can be abused!

(True story time)
On the bus i take home, the first person that gets home, has a stay dog in her neighborhood. One morning (She is the last to be picked up) we saw teh dog chianed to a tree, with bared wire. They dog, fairly young around 6 months due to it body shape, and size. It was bledding. I begged the bus driver to let me out so i can help it (It was half a day so i had no need to go to school) She said no. well the Fallwing after noon, it was still there. It was barking for help. Still I could not help. The fallowing week, we saw it on the street in ball, sleeping, it was bleeding, and had mang. It was a German shepard, and Dovemen mix. We see it every so often, wandering the streets, I can`t get out of the bus becouse teh bus driver won`t stop the car.
Anyways, I love this piece.
